we take them to the emergency hospital - but this meditation center
or the group learning Dharma, educating sentient beings, is a billion
times more important than an emergency hospital."

Dear Friends,
The purpose of Guhyasamaja Center is to help others by providing pure Buddhist teachings, retreats, and other activities to nurture participants' spiritual growth and development. Our center is solely run by the kindness and generosity of volunteers, and we are only funded by donations given by our students and friends. We never charge for Dharma teachings, so it's only through donations that we are able to continue hosting teachings.
On average, the Center
spends about $2,000 - $2,500 per month to host Gyumed
Khensur Rinpoche (in 2008, transportation, room and board are being donated).
These costs include the translator, attendant, airfare, transportation,
health insurance, room, board, stipends and medical care.
The main purpose of membership is to help the center continue making the
Dharma available to you. Membership is parcticularly important for the
center as it allows us to host Gyume Khensur Rinpoche and his attendant
and translator each year, to invite other great Tibetan Lamas and Western
teachers, and to host ongoing Dharma classes and retreats.
If we have strong, predictable support from our members, we can plan for the future. We'll be able to continue inviting teachers and also move towards securing a stable facility for the center. Once we have our own facility, we will be able to offer more and more classes, meditation sessions, retreats and other Dharma events.
